Grade 9 Physics Unit 1: Physics and Human Society
About Course
Unit 1 of your Grade 9 Physics course is called “Physics and Human Society.” In this unit, you will learn what physics is, what topics it covers, how it connects with other sciences, and why it is important in human life and history.
In Chapter 1.1, you will learn the definition and nature of physics. You will understand that physics is the study of matter, energy, motion, and forces. You will also see that physics helps us explain many things around us—how things fall, how light works, how machines move, and more.
In Chapter 1.2, you will study the branches of physics. These are different areas of physics such as mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Each branch focuses on a special part of the physical world.
Chapter 1.3 teaches you about related fields to physics. You will discover that physics is connected to many other subjects, such as chemistry, biology, engineering, and even environmental science. These fields work together to solve real-world problems.
In Chapter 1.4, you will learn about historical issues and contributors in physics. You will read about great scientists like Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Galileo, and how their discoveries changed the world. You will also learn how physics has developed over time and how it continues to grow today.
